Here’s a great Marinara Sauce I’ve been making for years! I throw everything in the crockpot and 8 hours later you’re whole house will smell divine! It’s so good & healthy! I made it last weekend to go along with Chicken Parmesan & Pasta but there are many different things you can do with this Marinara!
If you follow me on Instagram, I posted a pic of a bowl of Shrimp Primavera that I made with it (minus the pasta, but you could always add it in). All I did was chop my veggies: yellow bell peppers, onions, & mushrooms and saute them until they’re tender. Add in chopped cooked shrimp & the sauce and warm & top with a little parmesan. That’s it!
Here’s what you’ll need:
2 large onions (diced large)
6 cans of Fire Roasted Tomatoes
1 small can of Tomato Paste
1 can Tomato Sauce
2 Tsp. Sugar (I use Truvia Cane Sugar Blend)
1 Tbsp. Salt
1 Tsp. Ground Pepper
9 Tsp. Minced Garlic
3 Tbsp. Dried Oregano
3 Tbsp. Dried Basil
1/2 Tsp. Crushed Red Pepper (you can add more if you like it spicy)
I spray my crockpot with pam and then add all the ingredients & mix well. Put the lid on and turn crockpot on low for about 8 hours. I make this in batches and freeze some of it. It freezes really well! This recipe makes around 12 servings.
