What’s in My Pantry?

Do you ever go to the pantry & just stand there and stare? You’re hungry but have no idea what to make. That used to happen to me all the time. It still does occasionally, but for the most part I’ve been able to avoid this by making sure I have good food in the pantry. Being prepared when it comes to eating is half the battle. I’ve always had much better days when I’ve taken the time to prepare BEFORE I’M HUNGRY.  When I run in after training, I will tend to grab the quickest thing available so I want to make sure I’ve planned ahead so that whatever “quick thing” I grab, will be healthy (I mean… I get hungry every day, it shouldn’t come as a surprise… 😉 ) . My list changes from time to time, but generally if you come to my house these are the things you’ll find in my kitchen:

 

  • Protein:
  • Chicken Breasts
  • Ground Chicken
  • Ground Turkey
  • Ground Beef
  • Salmon
  • Deli Meat
  • Sausage
  • Bacon
  • Shrimp
  • Veggies:
  • Onions
  • Peppers (usually green & red)
  • Carrots
  • Spinach
  • Romaine Lettuce
  • Zucchini
  • Tomatoes (Yes this is a fruit, but it’s really a vegetable, lol)
  • Corn (frozen)
  • Riced Cauliflower (frozen)
  • Grains/Starches
  • Red or multi-colored Potatoes
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • English Muffins
  • Corn Tortillas
  • Rice
  • Oats
  • Fruit:
  • Apples
  • Lemons
  • Limes
  • Grapes
  • Fats:
  • Olive Oil
  • Coconut Oil
  • Butter
  • Peanut Butter
  • Pam
  • Dairy:
  • Almond Milk
  • Half & Half
  • Cheese (sliced & shredded)

Remember, you want to set yourself up for success. Making sure you have plenty of good choices in your kitchen is a must!!
