Apple Nachos

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the cooler weather, fall colors, camp fires (ok, just in my backyard, I’m not much of a camper, lol!), & apple picking!! This is another super easy recipe that I found on pinterest a long time ago & I’ve been making it for get-togethers ever since. Apple Nachos are also really pretty, but it won’t take forever in the kitchen & if you’re trying to eat sensible, this a great “go to” treat that won’t wreck your eating!

All you need is:

Peanut butter

Dark chocolate chips

Apples

Bowl of cold water w/lemon

Mini chocolate chips (optional) if you want just a little more chocolate!

_________________________________________________________________________________________

-I start by filling a bowl with cold water & lemon juice. Set aside while you slice your apples.

-Slice 3 or 4 apples (I like Honey Crisp, but my husband’s favorites are Granny Smith) & place them in the lemon water to keep them from turning brown.

-Melt around 45 grams of dark chocolate chips & 33 grams of peanut butter in the microwave in a microwave safe bowl and then transfer them in separate ziplock bags. Make a tiny cut in the corner of your ziplock bag, you need to make the cut smaller than you think so when you squeeze it out it comes out nice & smooth (I’ve had to re-do this a couple of times AND cut new apples, lol!)

-Once your chocolate & peanut butter are ready, take the apples out of the water & dry them (this will help the chocolate & peanut butter stick to the apples).  Arrange them in circles on a pretty plate.

-Start with the peanut butter and squeeze it out “gently” in a swirl pattern over the apples. Once they’re covered with peanut butter, you can do the same with the chocolate.

-After you’ve finished, you can add a few mini chocolate chips if you’d like. It’s pretty with or without them!
